Whitewater Rafting
A wild ride on the Kennebec River!

Whitewater Rafting

Each year thousands of paddlers challenge the whitewater of the Kennebec, Penobscot and Dead Rivers. With the Moosehead Lake Region situated between these premier whitewater rivers, the area is a perfect spot for the river enthusiast to stay. Outfitters provide you with everything needed for a fun, safe trip. They even supply a hearty, hot meal

All you need is a willingness to get wet and a thirst for an adventure unlike any other!

The Kennebec River Whitewater Adventure features 12 mile trips from Harris Dam to The Forks through the Kennebec Gorge's towering waves.

Penobscot River Whitewater Adventure is 14 miles of exciting descents from McKay Station to Pockwockamus Falls, through the class V Ripogenus Gorge and Cribworks. The Penobscot River is one of the most technical rivers to raft in the United States and is full of thrill.

The Dead River has more whitewater per mile than any river in the East and is pure excitement! The scenery is spectacular in this Maine wilderness, offering opportunities to see an abundance of wildlife. Moose, osprey and bald eagles are all common sights in this high mountain country.

All whitewater rafting guides have attended whitewater guide training schools and are certified and registered through the State of Maine to ensure your safety and FUN on the river. When planning a trip to the Moosehead Lake Region be sure to include this adventure in your itinerary.
